    Mission Statement/Purpose:  Skills USA provides quality experiences for students in leadership, teamwork, citizenship and character development.  It builds and reinforces self-confidence, work ethics, communications skills, and the importance of life-long education.  Skills USA also promotes an understanding of the free-enterprise system and involvement in community service.  More than 1,100 business, industry and labor sponsors actively support Skills USA at the local, state and national level through financial aid, in-kind contributions, and involvement of their staff in Skills USA activities.


    Selling points/ Description:  Skills USA is a national organization serving teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in technical, skilled and service occupations, including health occupations.  It provides extracurricular opportunities to help each student excel.  We are required by the Ohio Department of Education to provide students in Career and Technical programs access to student organizations to enhance and hone skills learned in the classroom.  Students should include participation in Skills USA on college applications and resumes.  If you have any questions regarding Skills USA, please contact Mrs. Capuano at (330) 837-3501 x1532, via email amc2jc@bearworks.jackson.sparcc.org or visit the Skills USA website:  http://www.ohioskillsusa.org/.
