Staff Bios

  • Scott Eversdyke, director

    I currently teach Chorale, Freshman Chorus, as well as several after school ensembles at JHS. I also assist Mrs. Hopkins with Concert Choir. I also assist with the 7th and 8th grade choirs with Mrs. Vaughn at JMMS. In addition, I direct the Jacks-N-Jills, Men's Chorus, Women's Chorus and co-direct the JHS Musicals after school. I have been a music educator for 28 years. I have taught 26 years in the Jackson Local School System and 2 years in the Dalton Local School System. I attended Titusville High School in Pennsylvania, and earned my Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from the University of Mount Union. I also hold a Master's Degree in Music Education from the University of Akron. I am currently the Chairperson of the Ohio Music Education Association Adjudicated Events Committee. I recently served four years as the Vocal Advisor, Rules & Procedures Chair, Immediate-Past Chair, Chair of the Committee, High School Affairs Chair, and four years as the Vocal Affairs Chair on the OMEA Adjudicated Events Committee. I have been married for 25 years to my wife Katharine. She is the Middle School Choral Director at Marlington Middle School. We have four wonderful children: a 22-year-old son, a 19-year-old daughter, a 15-year-old daughter, and an 11-year-old daughter.

     
    Benjamin Wykoff, director
     
    I currently teach Concert Choir and assist Mr. Eversdyke with Chorale and Freshman Chorus. In addition, I collaborate with Mrs. Vaughn at Jackson Memorial Middle School, where I assist the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade choirs and teach 7th grade general music. I am also involved in directing the Jacks-N-Jills, Men's Chorus, Women's Chorus, and JHS Musicals after school. In my second year of teaching, I hold a bachelor's degree in Music Education from The University of Mount Union and a master's degree in Music Education from Ohio University. As a 2019 graduate of Jackson High School, I actively participated in Freshman Chorus, Chorale, Men’s Chorus, and J-N-J, and am thrilled to give back to the program that gave me so much. 
     
    Jennifer L. Vaughn, director
     
    I teach Freshman Chorus at JHS as well as the 6th, 7th and 8th grade choirs, and 6th grade general music at JMMS. In addition, I direct the JMMS Chamber Ensemble and the JMMS musical after school. I am a proud Jackson grad. I earned my undergraduate degree in music education from Ohio University. I also hold a masters degree in music education from the University of Akron, where I completed extensive coursework on the middle school voice. My husband is a guitarist who teaches at Kent State University (Stark campus), and gigs all over northeast Ohio. We have two children: an 18-year-old daughter and a 15-year-old- son.
     
     
    Elizabeth Hopkins, director
     
    I currently teach Concert Choir and assist Mr. Eversdyke with Chorale and Freshman Chorus at JHS. I also work with the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade choirs at JMMS with Mrs. Vaughn. In addition, I assist in the direction of the Jacks-N-Jills, Men's Chorus, Women's Chorus and the JHS Musicals after school. I recently got married in March of 2023 and have been a music educator for 6 years. All 6 years of my career have been in the Jackson Local School District, which is also my alma mater. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from the University of Mount Union.
