D. Scott Eversdyke, director
I currently teach Chorale, Freshman Chorus, as well as several after school ensembles at JHS. I also assist Miss Galloway-Purcell with Concert Choir. I also assist with the 7th and 8th grade choirs with Mrs. Vaughn at JMMS. In addition, I direct the Jacks-N-Jills, Men's Chorus, Women's Chorus and co-direct the JHS Musicals after school. I have been a music educator for 25 years. I have taught 23 years in the Jackson Local School System and 2 years in the Dalton Local School System. I attended Titusville High School in Pennsylvania, and earned my Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from the University of Mount Union. I also hold a Master's Degree in Music Education from the University of Akron. I am currently the OMEA Adjudicated Events Committee Vocal Advisor. I recently served two years as the Rules & Procedures Chair, Immediate-Past Chair , Chair of the Committee, High School Affairs Chair, and four years as the Vocal Affairs Chair on the Adjudicated Events Committee. I have been married for 23 years to my wife Katharine. She is the Middle School Choral Director at Marlington Middle School. We have four wonderful children: a 19-year-old son, a 15-year-old daughter, a 12-year-old daughter, and an 8-year-old daughter.Elizabeth Galloway-PurcellI currently teach Concert Choir and assist Mr. Eversdyke with Chorale and Freshman Chorus at JHS. I have been a music educator for 3 years. I have taught 3 years in the Jackson Local School District, which is also my alma mater. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from the University of Mount Union.Jennifer L. Vaughn, directorI teach Freshman Chorus at JHS as well as the 6th, 7th and 8th grade choirs, and 6th grade general music at JMMS. In addition, I direct the JMMS Chamber Ensemble and the JMMS musical after school. I am a proud Jackson grad. I earned my undergraduate degree in music education from Ohio University. I also hold a masters degree in music education from the University of Akron, where I completed extensive coursework on the middle school voice. My husband is a guitarist who teaches at Kent State University (Stark campus), and gigs all over northeast Ohio. We have two children: a 15-year-old daughter and a 12-year-old- son.
