Our first meeting will be on Sept. 17, 2019 at 7:00am in the Distance Learning Lab, and then afterschool in room R100

Our initiatives this year include being the 'route cheerleaders and markers' for the Pi Mile race on 10/19/19, fleece balnket making for Akron Children's Hospital, the RYLA conference and connecting with our fellow Rotarians.

Interact is an amazing service organization, and we hope you conisider joining us this year!

Questions, please contact Ms. Kathryn Stone, Interact Advisor (kas2jc@jackson.sparcc.org)

The  main focus of Interact Club is to support individuals locally, nationally, and/or internationally, with money, goods, and/or deeds.  Through activities with these focus, club members and the officer team gain networking, volunteer, and leadership opportunities.
The Rotary Club of Jackson sponsors and supports this high school club.  Ms. Sarah Eades serves as the Rotarian Liaison for Interact Club.

Ms. Stone serves as the current advisor.

Traditionally, approximately 75 high school students, grades 9-12, participate as active members.
To remain a member in good standing, an individual must attend a minimum of 1 event per month and complete 2 committee requirements each semester.  A committee requirement consists of participating in the many opportunities Interact Club sponsors throughout the school year.

The organization meets biweekly on Thursdays as well as on an "as needed" basis.
The membership fee is $10 and includes a club t-shirt.

We engage in various community service projects throughout the school year.  The activities to date include   Jackson Pancake Breakfast, Stephen Fenstemaker Pi Mile, Making Strides, Adopt-A-Family, candygram sales, bake sales,  Burlington Coat Drive, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, American Cancer Society, JHS Spanish Honorary, and the annual Field of Heroes festivities held at the Jackson Safety Center during Memorial Day Weekend.
Two junior members receive the Rotary Youth Leadership Award each year and participate in a weekend-long leadership conference.
Interact members may compete in the Four Way Speech Contest sponsored by local Rotary Clubs each Spring and have the opportunity to advance to regional competition.
