So...Who is Mrs. S?!

  • 20 things you may want to know

    about Mrs. S :)

    1. I love dogs but we recently lost BOTH dogs to cancer so we are down to just a cat named Lucky Star (just like the restaurant!). Oh, and my analytical, sensitive, kind, loving son! Dane is my 3.5 year old son whom I love and adore more than anything in this world. The greatest pressure I carry is being the kind of person I want my son to be. I work so hard every day to show him the kind of person he could be in this world that is constantly trying to make him someone else.

    2. I am married to an incredibly kind, patient, and hilarious man named Scott. We will celebrate our 8 year wedding anniversary October 24 this year :)

    3. I am originally from Maumee, Ohio (a suburb of Toledo). Some years they have an amazing football team!

    4. I LOVE the Cleveland Browns! It is so much easier to like a team who wins all of their games but I like the challenge of remaining a Browns fan even when they lose every single game... :)

    5. I have always wanted to be a teacher. I can't imagine doing anything else with my time :)

    6. I hate mushrooms. I wish I liked them but I can't get past their bizarre texture. Yuck!

    7. I love to drink water, pop, and juice out of very fancy glasses. There is just something about drinking something ordinary out of something extraordinary to make your day more exciting (PS...my entire family makes fun of me for this!)

    8. I am obsessed with the Fall. I love campfires, football, smores, Halloween, pumpkins, hot banana bread, apple picking, hayrides, sweatshirts, and hot apple cider. I wait all year long for fall to get  here and when it finally makes an appearance it seems to leave us way too soon!

    9. I played soccer for 15 years and wish I still played.

    10. I love to wake up early and stay up late :)

    11. I love to cook! My husband says I am the best cook he's ever met (I pay him to say that!) which is why I do most of the cooking. I watch the Food Network more often than I should and I love going out to restaurants to try new food.

    12. I love to read and I read A LOT. Whether it's research about the brain or learning or psychology to a magazine, book, newspaper, or my email. I love reading and learning about all kinds of different things.

    13. My husband and I love to travel! We would love to go Italy someday.

    14. My parents divorced when I was in middle school. My parents live 6 blocks apart so us kids didn't have to travel very far.

    15. I have an older brother and a younger brother. I am the rose between two thorns! :)

    16. I LOVE to text! However, I HATE when I am trying to have a conversation with someone and they won't stop texting someone else.

    17. I think teenagers are the most insightful, honest, and special group of people. Teenagers have the ability to teach others the most simple life lessons that adults sometimes seem to forget. Middle schoolers never cease to amaze me :)

    18. I believe in being kind to everyone. Everyone is fighting a battle though you may never know what that battle may be. Even the person who seems the happiest is fighting through something, so be nice, play fair, and FORGIVE. Our reputation precedes us whether we like it or not! :)

    19. My husband and I were blessed with a handsome, silly, highly curious, and active son on March 27, 2104! His name is Dane and truly the best thing that has happened to me. While I have my own child I tend to look at my students as if they were my kids, too. It is important to me that I take good care of you at school just as you should be at home. :)

    20. I'm not perfect (no one is) but I'm okay with that! :) I try every single day to be a better person, and I know that never giving up is the key to life.
