My Home Page

  • Hello!

I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and express my excitement about working with you this year. I love teaching because I care deeply about each of my students. I believe students can grow and develop by examining the issues we cover in class. Over the course of this year, we will focus on comprehension and analytical reading skills through the study of a variety of authors and genres. Students will learn how successful readers think and visualize when they read, interact with and examine text.  In writing, we will focus on construction narrative, expository, persuasive and research pieces. Additionally, we will learn how to write meaningful and concise short responses, summaries, and be able to cite text references.

This year we will be reading several full novels in small group settings. I will be providing the students with a copy of their selected book to borrow.

    About Me:

I graduated from The University of Akron in May of 2015 with a Bachelors Degree in Middle Level Mathematics and Language Arts.

This will be me fourth year of teaching and my third year here at JMMS.  Last year I taught on-level language arts in the 8th grade, and will be continuing teaching the same subject this year.  Over summer I continued my masters program at The University of Akron.  I will be graduating with my Masters in Mild to Moderate Intervention this December.
