Welcome to Algebra 1/Geometry! I love math and am excited to teach you this year! I have enjoyed math all my life. I grew up attending Manchester Local Schools, then graduated from Kent State University with my degree in math education with a minor in music/piano. I completed my Masters in Gifted Education in 2019. During the summer of 2015 and 2016, I taught 4-6th grade math in downtown Chicago (see picture above where my husband visited for a weekend). For my first year of teaching, I taught at Akron Public Schools-North High School, which had a wide range of cultures and ethnicities. This is my eighth year at JMMS and I love being here! I teach 8th grade Algebra 1 and Geometry.  I also coach the 6th grade Running Club and am the ZOME Geometry club advisor.  My goal is to challenge my students to do their best and learn as much as they can with deep understanding, but also to have fun while learning math. 

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our sons Peter and Simon, and our dog Penny; playing the piano, backpacking, and running.  I love training for races all the way from the 1 mile to ultra marathons.
