Meet the teacher

  • Hello.  Welcome to my web site.  I have been teaching in Jackson Local Schools for 30 years.  I started my career at Lake Cable Elementary and then came to Sauder Elementary.  I started my teaching career in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where I grew up.  I was born and raised in a suburb of Pittsburgh called Sarver (about 45 minutes north of Pittsburgh).  I attended and graduated from Slippery Rock University.  Yes, there really is such a place.  I taught in Pennsylvania for a year before making Ohio my home.

I have two children.  My son attends Jackson Local Schools and runs Cross Country and Track and Field.  I have a daughter who graduated from Jackson last year and is now working as a cosmetologist.  Jackson offers their students many opportunities to explore their interests.    I have always been proud to teach in Jackson, but I am even more proud of the education that my children receive as students in this fine district.

I love animals of all kinds.  I have a dog named Mocha and a cat named CAT, both of which I rescued. My father's dog, also a rescue, Buddy now lives with us as well.  We are a animal loving/rescuing family.  Animal rescue is a passion of all the family.   I live in a log home and have a lot of critters that visit my home.  Currently, I am raising two raccoons.  They visit nightly and their favorite meal so far has been onion rings.

I am a Steelers fan and a Penguins fan.  My family and I spend a lot of time visiting Pennsylvania and attending football and hockey games.  Go black and gold!

Go Jackson Bears Cross Country and Track!!!
