    About Mrs. McBride:

I graduated from the University of Akron in 1992, with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.  I received my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, with an emphasis in technology from Ashland University in 1999.  This year will be my 26th year of teaching.  I began my career substituting in various districts for one year.  I then became a Title I kindergarten tutor in Akron Public Schools.  I moved on to Coventry Local Schools for the next five years teaching 7th and 8th grade Language Arts and Reading, kindergarten, 1st grade, and 4th grade.  Finally, I came to Jackson Local Schools and taught 1st grade at Lake Cable Elementary for three years.   I have been at Strausser Elementary now since its opening in 2002 and absolutely love it!  I hope to retire here!  I love teaching in Jackson and believe it is the best district.  I have a beautiful little girl, Kiley, who will turn six in September and I super excited she will be coming to Strausser with me!    In my spare time, I like to golf, ride bikes, exercise, work on my web site, find cool ideas on Pinterest and shop!  I'm always finding bargains for my classroom!!

    I BELIEVE.....

.....every child has the right to learn in an environment where they
        feel safe.
.....children learn by making mistakes, therefore mistakes are to be
        celebrated!
.....every child is smart, we just need to find their smartness.
.....all children need to learn to respect the likeness and differences
        in one another.
.....that change is to be experienced!
    .....children learn by example.
.....children learn by doing, messing up, and sharing.
    .....children are wonderful!
.....that everyone learns by making mistakes, it is the environment of
the mistake that helps one learn.
