Meet Mrs. Rich
-
Thanks again for visiting my classroom website! During non-school hours, I go by Kelsey and I am originally from Alexandria, Virginia. I have Ohio roots, however, in that a lot of my family is from the area and that I went to college at The University of Dayton (Go Dayton Flyers!). My career in teaching came full circle when I moved back home and began my teaching career at the same school I attended as a child.
I moved back to Ohio after meeting my husband in my college roommate's wedding. After moving to Akron, I went back to school to get my Master's in Literacy Education and Reading Endorsement from the University of Akron. Following that, I started my career in Jackson at Lake Cable Elementary as the Little Cubs Reading teacher. The 2019-2020 school year will be my eighth year of teaching, and my fifth year at Strausser (where I have taught both second and third grade). When I'm not at school, I like to spend time with my husband, my daughter Ellie, our mini goldendoodle Oxford, and my wonderful family and friends. We are expecting another little girl in December 2019, but I will return after 12 weeks of maternity leave. I am excited for the upcoming year and the opportunity to work with such a great group of students!Ellie Marie, who was born on July 20, 2017Oxford Rudy Rich (our college namesake pup)Mr. Rich and I love riding the trails! The second grade teaching team on Grinch Day!Cowgirls and cowboys in third grade!
