Hello! My name is Marcie Ardman and I am so excited to be your child's first grade teacher this year. I live in Canal Fulton with my husband and daughters.
This is my 5th year at Jackson, but I have had much experience with early education. I graduated from the University of Akron with my bachelor's in Early Childhood Education in 2009. I completed my student teaching at Amherst in both a kindergarten and 2nd grade classroom. I fell in love with Jackson Local Schools and promised myself I would one day be a part of the district. I worked at RiverTree Christian School for two years as a lead teacher in a preschool classroom and as the school age curriculum coordinator. After my third daughter was born I spent a year at home before starting to substitute teach. I started subbing for Jackson and surrounding school districts (although Jackson was my favorite!). I completed two long term substitute positions at Strausser and Amherst. I was thrilled to accept the position to teach first grade at Strausser!
I am excited to have your children in my classroom this year! First grade has always held a special place in my heart because they are still so young and innocent and are filled with such joy, but yet they grow into such mature students during their first grade year. I cannot wait to see the growth that will happen for your child this school year and am honored to be a big part of that. I hope to provide a positive experience for your child this year in first grade.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns regarding your child. I would love to have an open line of communication with you to provide the best support for your child.
Partnering with you this year,
Marcie Ardman
