Streaming tickets to Jackson School for the Arts production of "The Wizard of Oz" now available

The Jackson School for the Arts is busy putting the final touches on its fall performance of "The Wizard of Oz." Students are rehearsing for the show, which has been slightly adapted to mirror some of the same issues our families and students are facing in 2020.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the show is being taped and the performance can be viewed from the comforts of your home by purchasing a link to the show. In order to watch the performance, starring senior Emma Maier as Dorothy, go to the streaming site to see the show at 7 p.m. on November 5 and 7 or on November 8 at 2 p.m.

This is the first streaming broadcast of a JSA theatrical performance. There are not many schools in Ohio attempting a fall performance. Tickets are $13, with a $1.50 processing fee from the ticketing vendor for a total ticket cost of $14.50. Access to the streamed show is similar to the cost of a single ticket for regular musical admission. For questions regarding tickets, please call Lisa Ayres Surber at 330-830-8100, ext. 1011.

Ticket sales are the main source of revenue for the musical. Not having the ability to have our normal sold-out live performances will be a large setback. While only one stream pass is needed to watch the production as a group, please consider choosing to purchase multiple tickets to cover an accurate count of those watching the stream or use the donate button to show your support with a monetary donation of your choice.

There are only 500 tickets available for each performance, so make sure you purchase your tickets as soon as possible!

In addition to Maier, this is the rest of the featured cast:

Grace Sykes-Glinda Good Witch of the North/Aunt Em

Michael Stokes-Uncle Henry/Emerald City Guard

Jackson Clarke-Cowardly Lion

Zachary Charlick-Tin woodsman
