My husband, Chris, and I live in Jackson Township with our two children. My daughter Kendra, is 8 years old and is in Third Grade and my son, Graham is 5 years old and is in Kindergarten. Both of my children go to Lake Cable Elementary (in Jackson as well!) When I am not teaching I love spending time with my family and friends. I love to run, exercise, travel, spend time at the beach, watch football (Go Philadelphia Eagles! ) and my other passion besides my children and teaching...photography!
Everyone knows the age old question that children are always asked "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Well, I can honestly say there was never a day I didn't answer that question with "a teacher". Teaching is a true passion of mine. Every day is a new and exciting day in the eyes of 5 and 6 year olds. My goal as your child's teacher is to allow your child to gain an appreciation and love for learning...learning to read, write, do math and everything in between. Not only will your child grow and develop academically, but my goal is to create an environment that your child feels like they are part of a family. This year your child will begin to create lifelong friendships with many other children in the classroom and I can't wait to help these friendships flourish in every way!
I have a line that I always tell my students when they leave my classroom at the end of the year...
"Life is a dance, you learn as you go. Some days you'll lead and some days you'll follow." I tell my students (new and past ones) it's ok to be a strong leader, but it is also ok to let someone take the lead and learn from them! In my classroom, we become a family. We learn, play, grow and laugh TOGETHER!
I look forward to getting to know each of you and your child this year!
