    Most visual art programs require high school students to submit a portfolio of their artwork as part of their application. Here are just a few career/major options along with the high school visual art classes we recommend you take to prepare for submitting a portfolio:

    Portfolio Days

    Once you have created a portfolio, you should bring your artwork to one or more Portfolio Days. At these events colleges and universities can review your portfolio and inform you about scholarship opportunities. Events repeat every year.


    National Portfolio Day at the Columbus College of Art and Design (over 35 art schools/programs will be represented) Sun. Oct. 2nd - 1-4 pm

    University of Akron Portfolio Day  Sat. Oct. 15th - 12-3 pm

    (you must register online ahead of time)

    Portfolio Day at the Cleveland Institute of Art

    Sat. Nov. 12th - 12-4 pm
