April

  • Mr. Blackstock's math- We are beginning the last major project of the fifth grade math class.  The students are finished with the Go Math book and have done very well.  We are going to be creating a 5th grade Common Core math How-To-Book.  The project will go through April and into the middle of May.  While we are working on the books, we will be learning different 6th grade skills to prepare them for what is to come in the middle school next year.

Mrs. Fritz's math-We have been working through some practice OAA questions in the areas of data, probability, algebra, and number patterns.  We will finish the month with review geometry and measurement skills focusing on the areas of circumference, area, perimeter, and volume.

Social Studies- Students are enjoying our project for the Revolutionary War.  We have been creating a study guide book that will explain the 12 steps that led to the Revolutionary War and eventually our independence from Britain.

Science- We have wrapped up our study of sound energy.  The kids really enjoyed the hands on activities during that study.  Next, we will move into light energy, where we will continue learning through hands on activities. Then we will end the month with reviewing content from grades 3-5 in preparation for the OAA.

    Special Reminders-
