Ohio P.E Standards:
Standard 1: A physically literate individual demonstrates competency in a variety of motor skills and movement patterns.
Standard 2: A physically literate individual applies knowledge of concepts, principles, strategies and tactics related to movement and performance.
Standard 3: A physically literate individual demonstrates the knowledge and skills to achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical activity and fitness.
Standard 4: A physically literate individual exhibits responsible, personal and social behavior that respects self and others.
Standard 5: A physically literate individual recognizes the value of physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression and/or social interaction.
These standards were created by the Ohio Dept. of Education. All students are assessed for each standard.K- 2nd Grade:- Locomotor Skills - Skipping, Side-Slide, Galloping, Hopping, Jumping, Jogging
- Non Manipulative Skills- Jumping & landing, transfer of weight, balancing, rolling, twisting, turning
- Manipulative Skills- Throwing, tossing, catching, kicking, dribbling, volleying, striking
- Movement Concepts – Space (general vs. self), levels (low, middle, high) directions, pathways (straight, curved, zigzag), speed
- Fitness and physical activity levels
- Personal and Social responsibility
3rd-5th Grade:
- Team Building and Cooperative Activities
- Invasion Games: Flag Football, Hand Ball, Ultimate Frisbee, Floor Hockey, etc.
- Net Games: Badminton, Volleyball, Pickleball, etc.
- Rhythm/Dance
- Fitness and levels of physical activity
- Personal and Social responsibility
